Tucked along Portsmouth, New Hampshire’s Piscataqua River, The Tide House offers the best of both worlds: the thrill of exploring somewhere new, and the comfort of coming home. Once part of the city’s historic seaport, the property reflects Portsmouth’s 300-year story through its charming architecture and riverside views. Owned and managed by Hawthorn Creative President and CEO Jess Kaiser, The Tide House consists of two thoughtfully designed and managed condos just steps from downtown.
Before partnering with the Hawthorn Creative team, the property lacked a clear brand identity or dedicated online presence beyond third-party listings. We set out to change that with a cohesive brand, custom website, and a content strategy designed to elevate awareness and drive bookings.

Crafting a brand identity rooted in timeless design
With its exposed beams and finishes, traditional grey shingles, and coastal blue and white decor, The Tide House already had a character all its own — it just needed a brand to match. We designed a logo that captures the property’s legacy and spirit, pairing timeless typography with soft curves that echo the movement of waves. The full brand balances sophistication with seaside ease, featuring a refined coastal color palette, organic custom patterns, and a voice that feels warm, inviting, and effortlessly at home by the water.
Building a website as classic as the Seacoast
Next, we set out to design a website that felt like a breath of fresh, seaside air: crisp, inviting, and effortless. Using a clean layout and The Tide House’s branding, we designed a website that highlights stunning photography of Portsmouth, nearby attractions, and the property’s serene interiors. We added detailed reviews, FAQs, and accommodation pages to simplify the booking process while increasing visibility in search results.
Inspiring travel with an integrated content strategy
To keep The Tide House top of mind for travelers, we built a content strategy that extends beyond the basic booking pages. The Tide House’s blog serves as a go-to resource for visitors, covering everything from seasonal Portsmouth activity guides to local restaurant recommendations, all optimized to boost search visibility and inspire exploration. On Instagram, we carried that same spirit forward with bright, coastal imagery and travel-minded storytelling that capture the charm of both the property and the Seacoast.
